Our Story

We met at EY in 2020 in the most 2020 way possible: over Zoom. We worked together for a year without either of us making a move. When Mitchell changed jobs in 2021, we met in person for the first time and the rest, as they say, is history.

Sara moved to Chicago later that year, and we spent a few years there before trading midwest winters for life on the road. Since then, we've lived in Dallas, Austin, Bozeman, San Francisco, St. Pete, and Coeur d'Alene. We're loving our life of adventure, and can't wait to celebrate the next phase with you!

The Venue

Timber Cove Resort

Perched on the dramatic cliffs of the Sonoma Coast, Timber Cove is a place like no other — where towering redwoods meet the Pacific and the sunsets are absolutely unreal. We fell in love with it, and we think you will too.

We have a full buyout of the property for the weekend, so the entire resort is ours.

A Note on Lodging

We've reserved the entire resort and want everyone to stay on-site together for the full weekend. Please do not book a room directly. Timber Cove will send you a personalized booking link once your RSVP is confirmed — the sooner you RSVP, the sooner you'll be able to lock in your room.

Getting There

Timber Cove is a scenic drive up the California coast. The route along Highway 1 is one of the most beautiful drives in the country — so take your time and enjoy it.

Nearest Airports

Sonoma County Airport (STS)

~1.5 hours to Timber Cove. The closest and most convenient option, with service from several airlines.

San Francisco International (SFO)

~2.5 hours to Timber Cove. The largest nearby airport with the most flight options.

Oakland International (OAK)

~2.5 hours to Timber Cove. A great alternative with competitive fares, especially on Southwest.

Rental Cars

You'll want a car for the weekend. Rentals are available at all three airports. The drive up Highway 1 from San Francisco is stunning — plan for a little extra time to take it all in.

While You're Here

The Sonoma Coast is a special corner of California. Whether you arrive early or stay through Sunday, there's no shortage of things to explore — wine, redwoods, seals, and incredible food all within reach.

A tiny coastal village where the Russian River meets the Pacific — dramatic cliffs, harbor seals hauled out on the sandbars, and one of the most scenic stretches of Highway 1. Walk out to the river mouth to watch the resident seal colony (they'll have pups nearby!). The Jenner Headlands above town offers miles of uncrowded trails with sweeping ocean and river views.

A beautifully preserved 19th-century Russian colonial fort on the bluffs just south of Timber Cove. Fascinating history, sweeping coastal views, and easy walking trails right along the cliff edge. One of the most underrated spots on the coast.

Stretching 17 miles along the coast, this park includes some of the Sonoma Coast's most spectacular beaches and headlands. Bodega Head is a short loop hike out to a rocky promontory with wide ocean views — great chance of spotting gray whales. Doran Regional Park just south has a long sandy beach on the calm bay side, perfect for a walk or just sitting with the dogs.

Stand beneath 1,400-year-old coast redwoods towering over 300 feet. Cathedral-quiet, completely humbling, and one of the most peaceful places in California. An easy half-day from Timber Cove if you want a break from the coast.

Ladies: Maxi dresses preferred. Bright colors and bold patterns are absolutely encouraged — the coast is your runway. Please no white or white-adjacent (that includes light colors or patterns that photograph as white).

Gents: Suits preferred, tie optional. Subtle colors and patterns are welcome — blues, grays, and browns are a great fit for the setting. Please no black suits, no cream/beige/tan or light gray suits, no denim, no sneakers.

We've made accommodations for some little ones — reach out to us directly and we'll let you know!

Yes, we'd recommend renting a car. Timber Cove is along Highway 1 on the Sonoma Coast, about 2.5 hours from SFO/OAK or 1.5 hours from STS (Sonoma County Airport). Once you're at the resort, everything for the wedding weekend is on-site — but a car is handy if you want to explore the area.

Please RSVP by June 1, 2026 so we can finalize our guest count and room assignments.

The reception dinner is served family style. Please note any dietary restrictions or allergies for your party in your RSVP and we'll make sure everyone is taken care of.

The Sonoma Coast in August is beautiful but can be cooler than you'd expect — typically in the 60s–70s during the day with fog rolling in during the evening. We'd recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the outdoor portions of the evening.

RSVP

We can't wait to celebrate with you! Please let us know if you'll be joining us by June 1, 2026. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as you submit.

We'll send a confirmation to this address.
